My Home Automation System
-
I am a skilled software and hardware engineer.
Over the last 5+ years, I’ve developed my own custom software for automation of my home. I call it RoboDomo. It’s a private project, nobody else can set it up for their home - I don’t want it to advertise what things I own, where I live, etc. But on this site, everyone knows that I live in SCPD, so I don’t have to worry as much.
RoboDomo is designed to be run 24/7 on a tablet mounted on the wall or sitting on your nightstand or TV console.
Here’s a screenshot of the dashboard screen.
Technically, RoboDomo is a mashup - it’s a “hub” that integrates with disparate devices and cloud services in a unified way. RoboDomo works with Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri, and Google Home voice assistants.
For example, the dashboard screen is tile based. Some of the tiles control switches, fans, dimmers; these are controlled by a Hubitat Z Wave hub. Another tile shows what’s going on with the home theater; that’s interfacing with the TV, AVR, and Apple TV over WiFi. Another shows pool status and lets be control the pumps and heater; this is interfacing with an Autelis pool control system. Another lets me control the A/C system; this is interfacing with the IComfort cloud API.
The mashup is in action when I tap on the “bedtime” - this causes the pool pumps to be turned off (in case I forgot to turn them off), locks the doors, sets the A/C to sleeping temperature, turn off the lights in the kitchen and family room, etc.
The dashboard screen has tabs so I can choose which room; there is a custom configuration of tiles for each room. It’s not useful to have a tile to control the family room fan from the bedroom…
I just showed one of the many screens l. Here’s the weather screen:
If you want to see more, speak up.
I want to say that home automation is a separate thing from alarm systems, but they can be integrated into RoboDomo as well.

Mike, are you selling this system or advertising as a "consultant" to set it up for other people? Not a clear message.

Just a demo. Not for sale. Not for anyone to download.
