Your email preferences

Currently, I believe the site is set up so that when you first sign up, the only emails you will get from the site are a daily/nightly (one per day) “digest” email with the recent discussions - similar to what you might get from NextDoor, and any News Letters we decide to send out (should be rare, unless you all want more and whatever content…).

All other emails are opt-in. For the most part, you will see a notification highlighted on the right toolbar whenever there’s something that needs your attention. However, you might want to have emails sent to you for various things that happen on the site.

For example, if you create a topic and want to be notified whenever anyone replies to it, there’s an opt-in setting to get those emails.

There are a number of types of emails you can opt in.

To opt in, click on the icon next to your name at the top of the right toolbar.

Click on “settings” and you will see something like this:

On the right is a column of “Notifications” that you can set for yourself. Have a look!

You may also want to change the sort order of topics to “newest to oldest.” Keep sort order of posts “oldest to newest.”
