Preferred time and frequency of meetings
-
Any time is good. Just set it up and I will try and make it. My schedule varies 24 hours/7 days.
-
No mornings. Tuesday at 2:00 works usually for us.
Sorry we couldn’t be there this last meeting. -
How about evenings?
I went to the Republicans Club meeting beforehand to try and talk to the sheriff. They are a chartered club. They had two contiguous rooms with a podium in the middle. They had a table in the back with water/tea/coffee and treats, too.

Wvery other Tuesday 2pm if we can get a location that accommodates a larger group abd sound is not an issue again.

As residents, we get half price.

@mschwartz .... I prefer Evening meetings also.. Thanks.

@mschwartz said in Preferred time and frequency of meetings:
I suggested the 2PM Tuesday meeting this week because I knew we were able to get 10 people to show up at a resident’s home the previous Tuesday at 2PM.
This day and time may not be ideal for everyone to come and participate. In that light, I’d like to ask everyone if Tuesday at 2:00 is good for you, and if you want to suggest a different day and/or time, reply to this post.
We can gather the top few recommendations and have a poll using this site about which day and time to meet going forward.
For the next meeting, I’m hoping I can line up the sheriff to come speak and listen to our concerns and to help us set up the neighborhood watch program.
For each meeting, I would like for any one of us to propose a subject to focus on (security, home solar power, security systems, health care…) and to invite a speaker. Is that OK? Again, reply to this post.
For subjects that have a pro and con side, I’d love to see us invite a person from both sides to speak, or to have one of us speak to either side so we have as much information as possible in coming to our own conclusions about issues facing us.
One of the best things about this site is that we can have virtual meetings that are asynchronous. This means, we can use topics to discuss our “club” business and people don’t have to be online at the same time. You can come and post replies or new topics at any time and anyone else can reply at any time.
The face to face meetings are always a good thing as we get to know our neighbors much better and it gives us practice in speaking in front of a group - this may come in handy if we show up at board meetings to speak up about subjects we care about.

For the most part, I would stick with Tuesday 2 pm every other week - maybe add one evening or late afternoon meeting on the alternate week for those unable to attend in the afternoons.

Tuesday at 2:pm sounds good to me!

As far as I’m concerned, ANYONE is free to call for a meeting and set the agenda for that meeting. I don’t have any ownership of anything.
All I can do is put up this website and allow people to communicate between meetings and to announce any meetings that anyone calls for.
If you want to call a meeting, post an agenda here and I have no problem announcing it to about 150 people - and they may invite anyone else they choose.
There is the issue of reserving a room. If you want to reserve a room to hold the meeting, you have to go to the clubhouse and reserve the room and pay (resident rates) for it. How you pay for the room is up to you. People have offered to help pay, so you might ask here as well.
Tuesdays at 2 seems to be the best time.

Regarding meetings, it would probably be better initially to discuss with front desk as to room availability (times and days).
I am under the impression that rooms are more likely to be available in the evening.
