Agenda for next meeting

If you have suggestions for the agenda for our next meeting, reply here.

I suggest we discuss the issue of chartered club vs resident group vs. grassroots organization.
I am leaning towards the grassroots organization, but we would also need an agenda item for how we pay for things, like the room rental and if we want to pay for dinner for police officer or other projects that cost.

I agree the first order of business would be "What Are We?" And if/when we qualify to be an official SCPD group, then we can discuss requirements, dues and procedures. So one step at a time, do we want to be "official?"
-
Agree with "What Are We?" I am concerned that to succeed (aka get things done) and not only attract new people but also keep the ones who have been here from the start (first meeting of neighbors, then Tuesday meeting at Club House), we need to first retain the initial focus: security; then define one or two other major topics where we might have strong and doable initiatives in the next six to nine months. The web site has topics all over the place. For me, I get enough posts and "chat" from NextDoor and Steve's List (even with all their faults): I want to be able to zero in easily on those issues where we can make a difference and achieve our core goals.

I am reading on this site a post from another who says another home was broken into while the elderly woman was home. Another slider without a stopper of some sort.
No E-blast as of yet from SCPDA and yet it was reported to security and police.
Obviously to me and my partner Brian security is priority 1 and putting pressure on SCPDA to do something about it more effectively than they do now.
I wonder if the elderly resident in this case was even aware of the recent rash of burglaries. I would be curious how many Sun City residents are still not aware; for whatever reason, of these burglaries?
So in a nutshell; security must be on the agenda for us. The security town hall is coming, but it can’t come soon enough. -
I expect we will see an e-blast about it if it was reported to SCPD security.

Also, I sent Erik info about how he can send everyone a text message at $80 per 10,000 messages sent. He said thanks and it was helpful to him.
He isn’t moving forward with executing plans as fast as we would like.
