Writers and actors strike
-
The strikes have wreaked havoc on the production of TV shows and movies. The actors (SAG AFTRA) are still on strike…
So our choices of movies and shows are going to be limited to what’s already been filmed. We are stuck watching old shows and movies as well as any that were filmed before the strikes.
We’ve been watching some of the older shows:
-
Smallville - old series about Superman in his high school years. I like it - it’s a cross between X Files and a coming of age series (90210, One Tree Hill, etc.). I like the music throughout.
-
One Tree Hill - a series that follows a group of young people from their graduation year through life as adults. It has a bit of basketball to it and music production. It has guests who are musicians who perform on the show. I really like the music.
-
House - 8 seasons of a Hugh Laurie as a brilliant and funny doctor who also has to play detective to solve odd cases. The guest stars are actors you know from other worlds.
-
The Good Wife - a show about a woman who has a complex marriage situation and who becomes an elite lawyer in Chicago. The show has a number of strong women characters alongside men. The guest stars are amazing.
-
The Mentalist - follows a team of CBI agents and a quirky fellow who is a skilled profiler.
-
The Closer - follows a woman hired from the CIA to become deputy chief of the LA police department’s homicide division. The music is clever and quite good,- some of the best of any original TV show scores.
What are you watching?

I watch old movies like Dirty Dancing, Dancing with Wolves, Shawshank, etc etc. Don't miss the new stuff.

@komcgov I watched a few of the old black and white movies recently. The classics are still good.
